Hi! I'm Melanie.

Thanks for wanting to know more about me.

I was born and raised in a small New England town and always had an interest and passion for everything creative. In 2010, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. My training was heavily influenced by film and my favorite place throughout college was inside a darkroom. I enjoy(ed) nature and travel photography and participated in peer travel groups to Thailand in 2005 and Peru in 2009. I have exhibited my photography in galleries nationally and internationally and have had my work published in Photographer’s Forum 2010 Best of College Photography book and “Home…Is Where the Camera Is”(2009).

From 2010 to 2013, I co-owned an art gallery in Scranton Pennsylvania called New Visions Studio & Galley. There, I was a b&w darkroom manager and photography instructor while I curated 36 exhibits in a 1,500 sq. foot gallery space. I am happy to brag about awards I won in my time with New Visions; NEPA Times Leader’s 40 Under 40 award in 2011 for entrepreneurial excellence and The Weekenders Readers Choice Award for Best Art Gallery in 2012.

I now reside in the suburban Philadelphia area with my husband, son and two cats. While raising my son full time I also do freelance photography work for individual clients and organizations. My typical client is near Philadelphia or Allentown Pennsylvania, but I will accept clients from anywhere along the East Coast. Who am I kidding, I will gladly accept your destination wedding in Fiji.

My specialties are in-studio and on location portraits, weddings, corporate events, real estate and product photography.
