Jill & Matt’s Micro Wedding at Terrain Styers Glen Mills
I have been so excited for Jill & Matt’s Micro Wedding at Terrain Styers Glen Mills since January when they booked me to photograph their day. They are friends with Karen and Matt (a different Matt of course) if you remember their Chateau Bu-De Winery Wedding last fall. Jill and Matt had a micro wedding planned all along, even before COVID was well known and wreak havoc on the wedding industry.
It took a little finagling to make their day happen, being in the summer of COVID-19. But the staff at Terrain at Styers did an AMAZING job. They set up an outside tent to accommodate their already small wedding of around 60 guests. It may not have been the rustic look the couple originally wanted for their reception but it was 100% perfect. And we could still use those rustic backdrops for photos which was great.
Seriously, it was such a wonderful day. A beautiful location – I would love to go back sometime soon. Keep an eye out halfway through the photos for Jill’s dress change. Both dresses were so beautiful. When I showed up that day and saw her in her dress I thought she looked like a princess! No wonder Matt’s breath was taken away when he saw her walk down the aisle.

Jillian tells her and Matt’s love story
We met at work and became running partners. We did a lot of races together and always pushing one another to improve. Now I think we apply that to a lot of other aspects of our relationship.
Matt proposed on the annual “Christmas Movie Day” that he has had since he was younger. It is our favorite day of the year because we stay in pajamas all day and watch one Christmas movie after the other until its time to go to bed. He asked me if I wanted to have a Christmas Movie Day every year for the rest of our lives.
I said yes, of course, so he got down on one knee and popped the question! He even bought a box that shines a light on the ring because he knew we’d be in our dark basement theater. It was perfect for us. We don’t like big crowds and everyone staring at us, so it was perfectly planned to have it be just us!
