Self Portrait Maternity Photos
Pottstown Maternity Photographer
I decided at 38 weeks pregnant to take my own self portrait maternity photos. In the Philadelphia suburbs, this has been one hot summer indeed. It was the third week in a row of 95+ degree days with a heat index of well over 100, I had absolutely nothing cute that fit me anymore and I felt large and sweaty and gross. I had taken a few photos early on when I announced I was having a girl. And I took some more comfortable photos in the privacy of my own home but I really wanted some outside maternity photos with my husband and son who was very excited to be a big brother soon.
The reason I’m telling you about how I really felt about taking my self portrait maternity photos is because even though it was so hot and I didn’t feel as adorable as I envisioned, I am so happy that I did. I wanted photos to share with friends and family who don’t live close and haven’t had the chance to rub my belly as often as they would have liked or at all. I’m not going to remember how uncomfortably hot it was, because when I look back on these photos chances are it will be winter and I will be wrapped up comfortably in a blanket with my newborn babe. What I will remember from the photos is the feeling of my family of 3 that was soon to become a very special family of 4.

This was my online photo announcement to friends and family that we were expecting a baby girl.

And how cute are these pink booties?? I can’t wait to take home my baby girl in these.
Thanks for hanging out with my and my giant belly for awhile! Stay tuned for some real cute photos of our newest bundle of joy. She will be joining us tomorrow!

Melanie, what gorgeous maternity photos! So many pregnant women are too self conscious for maternity photos, and it’s a shame. These are such a beautiful moment in time, I hope every future mother in Pennsylvania books you without even thinking twice! Beautiful Pennsylvania maternity shoot!
